Phillip Burmood is the owner of Blu Skies Salon and has been creating behind the chair for 20 years. It wasn’t until 2004 that he had discovered an industry that was built upon cultivating relationships, imagination and ongoing artistic creativity to each guest, and most importantly, improving a persons confidence in their look. These are the key factors that keep him inspired and ambitious to give ALL Blu Skies guests the best experience possible.
Brittany Lepine

As a Paul Mitchell alumna and a Paul Mitchell National Educator, Brittany has the knowledge to give you the best hair experience you’ve ever had! She loves color, especially when it comes natural dimensional tones. As our director for weddings and special event styling, she loves to curate a unique look for your special day. Brittany is also an air-dry specialist, helping you to find the best style and routine to enhance your natural texture- from straight to curly. She is a curl specialist, creating a haircut that is unique and flattering for your hair type. Brittany has amazing communication skills in order to understand your specific hair goals and to inform you of what to expect with each process, and ensuring the health of your hair along the way.
Breanna Watkins

If you were to ask Brea to use three words to describe how she wants you to feel in her chair, she would say safe, valued, and empowered. Experiencing what she refers to as ‘flow,’ a state of hyper focus, she is intentional with how every hair will serve in your transformation. Brea has a joy for color theory, chemistry, and transmutation. Brea brings an eclectic and mystical energy in to the salon and into her services. Curious how? Adam Fisher

Adam’s artistic background has gained him experience to develop unique ways of cutting and coloring men’s and women’s hair. Whether it be transitioning into a longer length or trying something new, he has a great understanding of listening to your needs and teaching you tips of how to recreate your new style from home. He is also licensed as a Barber offering shaves to give you the full experience.
Mickey Larrison

Self expression has always resonated with Mickey. Her meticulous attention to detail and trendsetting techniques have earned her a reputation as a go-to stylist for those seeking a unique and bold aesthetic.Her passion lies in creative color placements,vivid hair colors and specialty cuts, as well as generating looks that match the client’s lifestyle and personality. In her downtime you might find her sewing, painting, and costuming. As a creative spirit, hair is just another medium to explore.
Katie Shelton

Katie is a colorist, Elevate Hair Award nominee, and hair artist with 8 years of experience behind the chair. Her main focus is to customize a look that is uniquely yours and create an atmosphere in which every client can embrace themselves. She has had her work featured in Beauty Launchpad Magazine, and has attended educational trainings in New York, San Antonio, and New Orleans in order to stay ahead of the curve, bringing fresh new styles and trends back to the Midwest. She specializes in vivid color, modern blonding techniques, and extensions. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering, watching horror flicks, and spending time with her two children.
Sarah Thomas

With four-plus years of experience behind the chair, Sarah has developed a real affinity for the art of blonding and vivids. Outside the salon, you’ll catch Sarah engaged in her other passions – gaming and reading. It’s not just about crafting stunning looks for her; it’s about providing a personal blend of expertise, creativity, and a genuine desire to uplift others, making her standout in both her hairstyling and personal pursuits.
Jordyn Bareford

Jordyn has been a stylist for nearly 7 years, with a focus on barbering, vivid color, blonding, and extensions. She demonstrates an exceptional passion for her guests and the experiences she provides. Jordyn strives for perfection in delivering services tailored to each guest’s needs and desires. She loves meeting new people and establishing connections on various topics. Outside of the salon, Jordyn can be found spending time with her husband Cody and their two beautiful children. Additionally, she has two German Shepherds that keep her and her family on their toes. Jordyn looks forward to serving clients to the best of her capability and getting to know them better while they are in her chair.
Julia Pfitzner
Stylist, Barber

Julia strives to make any person who sits in her chair leave with a new, confident look. After being in the industry for 4 years, her love for hair has only grown; she makes sure her clients leave with a smile. Julia does not judge in the chair, looks at your hair health, and loves to give advice on what will keep it healthy. In addition to doing cut and color, she also has her barber license. When Julia isn’t working she is spending time with her children, watching her grandson, or at the beauty store.

Blu Skies Salon is located in the heart of Downtown Springfield, MO. Our salon is located off Campbell Ave with free parking on the street and our dedicated lot to the left of the building.

It was my first time there, but the atmosphere was wonderful and I felt very welcome there. Sarah did a lovely job on my hair and made it look exactly how I wanted it and made sure to accommodate me on anything I might need. She was very polite and I felt comfortable. I will be back again for my future hair appointments and have already recommended my fiancé to one of the other stylists there!
In August of 2022, I went to Marina wanting to do what was needed to let my natural gray grow in. She took my red hair to blonde in just two visits so that my grays could grow in. I have not been anywhere else since!! I trust her with all my hair making decisions from cut to color. She is amazing. The salon is fun and welcoming and always clean.
Mickey took time to listen to what I wanted. She made suggestions and I really like my cut. She's friendly and personable. I will likely go to her again.
Katie did an awesome interview giving my wavy hair some shape. She's the best! Listened to what I wanted and provided some great suggestions.
Paige did an amazing job adding demsion to my hair color for my daughter's wedding. Paige and Julia are working as a team to keep things on track keeping me and my youngest looking our best. It's been a several month and step process to get here and I couldn't be happier with both of them.
As always, Leslie is amazing. I've always had a great experience at Blu Skies. I highly recommend it to everyone. Thanks Leslie for suggesting the new color. I love it!!

Marina was absolutely awesome! She listened, was caring & patient! I have psoriasis and she was SO GENTLE and courteous with my scalp & how I felt, etc. Of all the hair places I have been, she is the best 👌 I highly HIGHLY recommend going to Marina 😁
