Phillip Burmood is the owner of Blu Skies Salon and has been creating behind the chair for 20 years. It wasn’t until 2004 that he had discovered an industry that was built upon cultivating relationships, imagination and ongoing artistic creativity to each guest, and most importantly, improving a persons confidence in their look. These are the key factors that keep him inspired and ambitious to give ALL Blu Skies guests the best experience possible.
Kelsie Chrismer

Kelsie believes in making their clients feel like their truest self. Always striving to make your time at the salon an experience that is comfortable and fun. Kelsie has been with Blu Skies since 2021. Originally joining the team with just hairstyling, then later adding in nail services. She is inspired by alternative styles, low maintenance styles, and colors that pop. Whether you’re looking to get a lived in blonde balayage with long layers, or a bright pink mullet, Kelsie is the stylist for you. As for nails, Kelsie specializes in gel services. This includes gel polish and builder gels. Kelsie loves to handpaint any and all designs ranging from polka dots to hyper realistic insects. In their free time you can find Kelsie hanging out with her cats, crocheting, sewing, reading, or playing video games.
Leslie Howard

Leslie Howard is the Artistic Director of Blu Skies Salon, and has been working behind the chair for over 14 years. She always has the best way of approaching huge hair transformations while keeping each new phase as good as the last. Understanding how each person’s hair texture moves and shines the best can be difficult for many, but Leslie is so up to date with the latest trends, product knowledge, and techniques that will help you discover what you didn’t think could be achieved with your hair.
Brittany Lepine
Stylist & Director for Wedding & Special Event Styling

As a Paul Mitchell alumna and a Paul Mitchell National Educator, Brittany has the knowledge to give you the best hair experience you’ve ever had! She loves color, especially when it comes natural dimensional tones. As our director for weddings and special event styling, she loves to curate a unique look for your special day. Brittany is also an air-dry specialist, helping you to find the best style and routine to enhance your natural texture- from straight to curly. She is a curl specialist, creating a haircut that is unique and flattering for your hair type. Brittany has amazing communication skills in order to understand your specific hair goals and to inform you of what to expect with each process, and ensuring the health of your hair along the way.
Breanna Watkins

If you were to ask Brea to use three words to describe how she wants you to feel in her chair, she would say safe, valued, and empowered. Experiencing what she refers to as ‘flow,’ a state of hyper focus, she is intentional with how every hair will serve in your transformation. Brea has a joy for color theory, chemistry, and transmutation. Brea brings an eclectic and mystical energy in to the salon and into her services. Curious how? Adam Fisher

Adam’s artistic background has gained him experience to develop unique ways of cutting and coloring men’s and women’s hair. Whether it be transitioning into a longer length or trying something new, he has a great understanding of listening to your needs and teaching you tips of how to recreate your new style from home. He is also licensed as a Barber offering shaves to give you the full experience.

Attie’s problem-solving skills and artistic approach to hair have allowed her to create a customized experience for you in her chair. Armed with 9 years of strong experience in bustling salons in Austin, Denver and recently Springfield she has developed her own unique ways to achieve your hair goals. Attie has a knack for making you feel right at home and promises to provide a safe and non-judgemental space for you and your hair despite the circumstances of past hair mistakes. She is a well-rounded stylist that feels confident in being able to provide the desired cut and color on any texture of hair(including curly) she is met with from edgy to blended. When not behind the chair Attie makes jewelry that is available in salon and is a dog rescue advocate with four of her own. She looks forward to talking with you about your dogs, her dogs, your friend’s dogs, your parent’s dogs and that dog walking down the street next to the salon.

Taylor is a friendly and diligent skin therapist with expertise in skin transformations. She specializes in healing acne and reversing the signs of aging. Throughout her own struggles with acne she realized how much her skin affected her confidence. She thrives to help her clients feel truly confident and love their skin. Not only will she customize each facial to your own skin’s needs but she will also help personalize a home skincare routine, ensuring you get the best results.
McKenna Cummings

As the manager of Blu Skies, McKenna is typically the first face you’ll see when you walk through the door. Her daily goal is to give clients & stylists alike the tools necessary to confidently tackle their day. She is constantly thinking of new ways to create an inclusive space for people to pursue their creativity and share it with the community, as well as ensure all clients have a relaxing & memorable experience. McKenna is additionally the salon’s Eyebrow Waxing Specialist, and loves a challenge when it comes to creating the perfect brow shape for her clients. McKenna also has a passion for wedding & event makeup, which gives her the opportunity to help clients feel like their best selves on their special days. When she’s not at the salon, you can normally find her spending time with her dog or at home reading!

She has had her work featured in Beauty Launchpad Magazine, and has attended educational trainings in New York, San Antonio, and New Orleans in order to stay ahead of the curve, bringing fresh new styles and trends back to the Midwest. She specializes in vivid color, modern blonding techniques, and extensions. In her free time, she enjoys volunteering, watching horror flicks, and spending time with her two children.

As a dog mom to a 3-year-old Corgi named Peach and an avid Taylor Swift enthusiast in the salon, Neeley is eager to welcome new guests who are enthusiastic about rediscovering their love for their hair!

From fueling airplanes to working on an organic vegetable farm, Kat has worn many hats career-wise (as well as many literal hats), but is grateful to have found her way to cutting hair. As a connoisseur of remaining a kid at heart, Kat considers each day that she gets to be alive a gift and an adventure.To quote Kat, “Everyday we get to wake up and see what’s going to happen together.” Endlessly curious, Kat wants to see what is possible for herself within this lifetime and believes she cannot do it without the love and support of her community. Her aim is to make things beautiful wherever she goes on this crazy blue marble, by means of cutting hair, making art, and making connections with new folks. If you have ever wanted a cut to help you feel more like yourself, wondered about the potential we have together as humans, or just wanted the company of another awkward human along with a good ole hair wash, then come spend some time with Kat.

Anyone who is looking for great hairstylist knows the struggle of finding a great hairstylist that really understands what the client is wanting to achieve. After calling and asking a few questions about who might be a good fit, I booked an appointment with Jordan at Blu Skies to do a pretty big transitional cut for my 12 yr old son. He had grown his hair out for 4 yrs and was afraid to cut it or even trim it. To start, Jordan made my son and I feel extremely comfortable with her feedback and we decided to just let him decide on length to cut. She took her time and did a phenomenal job with the cut that he had a reference picture for! Even though he has a different hair type than the reference picture, she NAILED it! I immediately booked another appointment for my other son who has had nothing but terrible haircuts no matter where we went. Not only was he extremely happy with it, he received compliments everywhere he went! We will be repeat client of hers from now on!
I went to see Taylor Mach for a facial. It was a great experience. She's very knowledgeable, very professional. Had some great insight and suggestions to address my concerns. Plus she gave a really nice shoulder massage while my mask was on! I highly recommend her!
4.27.24 Just had my third Micro-needling session with Taylor. I could tell a noticeable difference on my frown lines and crow’s feet probably 4 months after the first session. I’ve been going every six months and I’m very pleased with the results. Highly recommend! And like I said on the first review, you get a great neck and shoulder massage while waiting on the numbing cream to take effect!

It is rare to walk into a place and feel like no matter who you get, your expectations will be exceeded. Not only that, but the artists at this salon genuinely listen to you and work with you to get the best style for your hair and all of its individual quirks.
